About 13 years ago, I reached Colombia with 2 suit cases from India and with zero idea of if I will survive here. Tabio, Central Savannah province, Cundinamarca, was my first adventure outside Bogotá on my own. I realized that small towns here are no different to our own back in India. Tabio therefore has a special place in my heart.

As a person with a passion for history and culture with no Spanish skills back then, Colombia accepted me with open arms and thanks to all good souls, I have made friends that are now for life. I eventually met the love of my life here. I learnt and experienced the power of .

I learnt the concept of a Spanish historic center, the Centro Historico and how it influences life in small towns even today. The church, the town hall, banks, shops and restaurants, park with benches as you sit and see the day pass by etc inspires me to travel more and more.
